Canggu is the collective name given to a group of villages including Berawa, Tegal Gundul, Tiyingtukul, Pererenan, Nelayan and Babakan. Until recently, this could be described as a sleepy, semi-rural, coastal locale. However, it has rapidly transformed in recent years and is now one of Bali's coolest districts known for its exciting nightlife and hipster vibe.
Still dotted with terraced rice fields that extend down to the beach, Canggu is a district full of contrasts. You will find some of the most luxurious private residences on the island here, serenely fitting in with their idyllic surrounds, with fabulous clubs just around the corner. A great selection of eclectic restaurants, cafes, bakeries, boutiques and beach bars have opened doors in the area, especially along Jalan Batu Bolong, which runs right down to the beach. Popular spots include Finns Beach Club, Old Mans, La Laguna, The Lawn and Ji @ Bale Sutra.
Our luxury villas in Canggu range from blissful and tranquil havens set next to gurgling streams, to well-equipped party houses close to all the action. Whatever it is that you wish from your Balinese holiday in Canggu, we have the perfect villa for you. Boasting private pools and lavish indoor-outdoor spaces for socialising, the villas are destinations in themselves. Sprawling gardens will belie their proximity to the hectic scene outside their gates, while others are tucked into semi-rural locales, mere minutes from everything that Canggu is famous for. Professional staff will take care of your every need when you stay with us, and dining is a pleasure thanks to skilled chefs who can whip up meals worthy of any fine dining restaurant.
Canggu is popular with surfers, boasting reef swells larger than those you will find further south in Kuta and Seminyak. Swimming isn’t advisable however as the rips can be dangerous, but there are plenty of other things to do from horseback riding to cooking classes. Finns Recreation Club (for which many elite havens in the area include guest membership) offers social and leisure amenities, including Splash Waterpark, Bounce trampoline centre, Strike bowling, a state-of-the-art gym, a 25-metre swimming pool and a tennis and squash centre.
Along the coast towards the north is Pura Tanah Lot; a sea temple perched high on a craggy wave-lashed rock and probably the most photographed site in Bali. Sophisticated Seminyak, a few kilometres south of Canggu, lays claim to the highest concentration of independent fine dining restaurants on the island, including Sarong, La Lucciola and Ku Dé Ta, together with a wide choice of chic cocktail bars, exciting nightclubs, lavish spas and elegant boutiques. Canggu is the perfect choice for groups looking to visit Bali for its exciting nightlife, fabulous surf and vibrant dining scene.
