A slew of cafes and restaurants can be found five minutes away, dotting the lane leading down to Pererenan Beach with its relaxed surf culture and spectacular sunsets. Meanwhile, vibrant beach clubs like La Brisa and the lively streets of Canggu are easily reached within 15-20 minutes when you want more dining, shopping and nightlife. It is an ideal location for experiencing Bali at your own pace, with the best of the island’s coastal lifestyle close at hand.

Often dubbed the ‘coffee hub’ of Bali, there are over 20 coffee shops in Pererenan alone, not counting the plethora of coffee shops, cafes and restaurants that jostle for your attention in Canggu.
The Villa Manager at Five Palms Villa 1 has a wealth of information about nearby places of interest. The Elite Concierge can help arrange transport and make any bookings required. Do also ask the Villa Manager about the local area. Many staff members live nearby and will be able to give an interesting insight into some of the fascinating aspects of Bali life.
In the meantime, here’s a taste of some of the activities on offer within reach of the villa:
- The area around the villa still retains a tranquil vibe, meandering through rice fields. It is a lovely area to cycle around. If you would like to hire a bicycle, please let the Villa Manager know, and they can arrange it for you.
- Catch a wave at one of Bali’s fabulous surfing beaches, all within easy access, and Pererenan Beach right on your doorstep. Among these beautiful black sand beaches, Echo Beach is perhaps the most famed surfers' haunt, but all are in a prime position for Bali’s legendary sunsets.
- Exploring a different beach club every day is a great way to work your way through Canggu. La Brisa is located fifteen minutes away by car, and is popular with families as well as couples and groups. The shabby chic decor, bean bag seats, and stunning sunset views ensure that tables require advance booking.
- If you're looking for a seaside beer garden, Old Man’s Bar near Echo Beach has its fans. For something more relaxed during the day, book a table or sunbed at The Lawn - a beach lounge that spills onto the sand.
- Make the de rigueur pilgrimage to sacred Pura Tanah Lot Temple, one of Bali’s biggest tourist magnets. Perched high on a craggy, wave-lashed rock, this ancient sea temple is best savoured at sunset but is less busy in the mornings; be sure to receive a blessing from the Hindu priests.
- Less than 8km away, find Splash Waterpark, part of Finns Recreation Club. Swoosh down world-class waterslides and rediscover the child in you. A great family day out, go early to beat the crowds.
- For a day of culture and dramatic landscapes, drive directly north from the villa to the mountain town of Bedugul. From here, explore three Volcanic lakes, including Bratan, with its photogenic and stunningly positioned Pura Ulun Danu – one of Bali’s most important temples.

Complimentary breakfast is included in the villa rate and procured from a gourmet cafe nearby. International favourites such as Avocado Toast and Pancakes are as popular with guests as local selections featuring fish and chicken in Indonesian spices.
For lunch and dinner, you can choose to explore Bali’s famed gourmet scene by sampling from a vast array of excellent restaurants and cafes. With so many options in the vicinity, you are truly spoilt for choice. Guests may also choose to self-cater using the villa’s sleek, modern kitchen.
For something special, the Elite Concierge can organise a private chef experience wherein a professional chef (extra cost) will cook up a delicious meal of your choice (extra charge). It is advisable to plan meals ahead to allow adequate time for the chef to prepare. The staff will then undertake the grocery shopping, visiting the local markets and specialty food shops. Groceries and beverages are charged at cost price plus 20% handling fee (subject to tax and service charge), and staff will keep all receipts for reference.
