Sleeps 12 Adults

Looking for a fabulous ocean-view pad with plenty of room to party for up to 17 guests? The abundance of indoor and outdoor spaces – not to mention two swimming pools and six generous bedrooms – make Villa LuWih the perfect choice for several families or groups of friends looking to spread out with both social 'us' and private 'me' space.

Pererenan Beach in Canggu on Bali's southwestern coast is famous for its rolling surf – framed to perfection through walls of glass on all three floors of Villa LuWih. Sunsets don't get better than from the upper level glass-fronted swimming pool or the decked sitting room with doors flung open to the view. And they're pretty spectacular from the main pool below, the garden bar, living room… even the state-of-the-art media room with its 60-inch TV with Apple TV.

Six ensuite bedrooms are spread across the three levels, delivering luxury, privacy and the rare choice of grouping families together in separate parts of the villa. And throughout, glass-fronted rooms can be opened fully for tropical living heat as a contrast to air-conditioned cool.

Matching the luxurious surroundings is a team of staff at the ready to satisfy every whim, be it a caipirina cocktail at the bar or a five-course feast prepared by the chef at extra charge (refreshingly, groceries and beverages are charged at cost price plus 20%++ handling fee).

Luxury, style in spades and stunning ocean views… Villa LuWih has it all.

Location

Tucked away at the end of a quiet rural lane in the district of Canggu, Villa LuWih is located just a stone’s throw from the dramatic black sands and rolling waves of Pererenan Beach – one of Bali’s most popular surfing spots. The villa is also just a short drive from trendy Echo Beach (7km) with its beachfront bars, restaurants and surf shops. Heading slightly further south down the coast is the fascinating museum-hotel Tugu, which is well worth dropping into for drinks or dinner. Villa LuWih is approximately mid-way between the sacred Tanah Lot beach temple (10km), and the sophisticated shopping and dining centre of Seminyak (13km).

More information for Things to do

The villa manager at Villa LuWih will typically have a wealth of information about nearby places of interest and will help arrange transport and make any bookings required. Do also ask the staff about the local area. Many of them live nearby and will be able to give an interesting insight into some of the fascinating aspects of Bali life.

In the meantime, here’s a taste of some of the activities on offer within reach of the villa.

  • If you’ve always dreamed of galloping along a beach or riding through villages bordered by rice fields, now’s your chance. Bali Horse Adventure, located five minutes from the villa, can arrange horse riding tours, as well as children’s riding lessons and horse-drawn carriage outings.
  • The most exclusive Bali trekking tour promises breath-taking vistas and heart-warming encounters while supporting sustainable social change in the once-forgotten villages of Muntigunung. Elite Havens is a proud partner of Muntigunung Community Social Enterprise.
  • Catch a wave, or several, at some of Bali’s best surfing beaches, all are within easy access and Pererenan is right on your doorstep. There are several surf schools in Bali, mainly based in and around Kuta and Legian, where young and old(er) can learn to surf or brush up on their skills.
  • On Canggu Beach, be sure to visit mystical Hotel Tugu Bali. Bali’s first museum/hotel is studded with priceless Indonesian artworks and antiques and its award-winning spa offers age-old Eastern therapies.
  • Make the de rigueur pilgrimage to sacred Pura Tanah Lot, one of Bali’s biggest tourist magnets. Perched high on a craggy, wave-lashed rock, this ancient sea temple is best savoured at sunset but is less busy in the mornings; be sure to receive a blessing from the Hindu priests.
  • Fashionistas, trendies and shop-a-holics should hot-foot it down to Bali’s most cosmopolitan enclave, Seminyak. Here, you can indulge for hours in the glut of stylish, global-inspired restaurants, chic boutiques and hipper-than-thou bars – including The Potato Head Beach Club.
  • Drive westwards to explore the unchartered West Bali region, where the charming Tabanan Regency reveals terraced rice fields of emerald green, volcanic mountains including Mt Batukaru and black-sand beaches dotted with fishing communities – treasures that Bali is famed for.
  • For a day of culture and dramatic landscapes, drive directly north from the villa to the mountain town of Bedugul. From here, explore three volcanic lakes, including Bratan, with its photogenic and stunningly positioned Pura Ulun Danu – one of Bali’s most important temples.
  • If you are a bold and brave bargain hunter, a shopping spree at one of the Denpasar’s markets within the heart of Bali’s bustling provincial capital, is an exciting and rewarding experience.
  • Covering 3.8 hectares of tropical parkland in Kuta, Waterbom Bali has 16 water slides (including The Climax with its 360 degree loop) to entertain the young and the young at heart. A great family day out, but go early to beat the crowds.

Dining

The villa offers an extensive suggestion menu of delicious home-style meals featuring Asian and international dishes to cater to all tastes, with an excellent selection of vegetarian and children’s options. The chef (at extra charge) is also more than happy to tailor meals to accommodate any special dietary requirements. A stay is not complete without sampling the chef’s pepes ikan (fish steamed in banana leaf), satay ayam (chicken satay on bamboo skewers) or pisang goreng (fried banana) with ice cream.

Groceries and beverages are charged at cost price plus 20%++ handling fee. Guests will be requested to provide grocery money in advance, and the staff will do the shopping and keep the receipts for reference. To make the most of the kitchen and give staff time to shop, it is a good idea to plan meals the evening before. To minimise disruption to guests, the hired chef works from a staff kitchen located on the villa’s lower level, so the only ‘disturbance’ will be the tantalizing, mouthwatering smells wafting up from the kitchen below.
