Perched on the side of a picturesque cliff just ahead of Senggigi in north-western Lombok, four-bedroom Villa Kukenan is for those who love the simple joys of life. Endless views of the vast ocean, changing colours as the day passes by. Searching for sea shells on your private beach (conditions may vary by season) down the cliff, and then coming back up to cool down in the infinity pool. Delicious meals served on the grand eight-seater dining table, and perhaps an aperitif on the balcony as you hear the waves below?
A large, loft-style master bedroom is the envy of many, with a separate lounge and dining area below and a king-sized bedroom up a flight of stairs. The other three guest bedrooms mirror each other in style and amenities, sharing the upper floor between them. A little over an hour’s drive from the airport, with easily arranged luxury transfers for your convenience, Villa Kukenan is perfectly placed for you to enjoy Senggigi’s many charms. The hamlet has a main street dotted with spas, restaurants, supermarkets and the likes. Its north-western location also allows you access to the treasures of northern Lombok - waterfalls, nature hikes, and of course, the Gili Islands renowned for their water life. Villa Kukenan is located on the north-west coast of Lombok, a little over an hour from the international airport. The vibrant area of Senggigi is merely five minutes away by car, where you can access a beach, rows of shops and spas, as well as a handful of delightful international restaurants and bars. There’s even a beach club (Verve Beach Club) close by which allows you to sit by the sand and watch the sun go down over the horizon, though the villa offers stunning sunset views too. Towards the north, a ten-minute drive brings you to a water sports club where you can try out family friendly activities such as snorkelling, etc. Private beach (conditions may vary by season) access down a steep flight of stone steps takes you to your own little sandy beach where the kids can search for seashells or dip their toes in water. If you’re lucky, you may even get a glimpse of turtles as they come up for air near the shore.

- Head to Senggigi, the closest township. With a splattering of day spas for that relaxing foot massage, international restaurants and bars, it’s the perfect outing from Villa Kukenan.
- Play a round of golf at the Lombok Golf Kosaido Country Club – a serene 18-hole championship course on Sira bay with dramatic views of Mount Rinjani.
- The Elite Concierge can arrange a day tour to the Gili Islands. Go scuba diving or snorkelling in the crystal aquamarine waters, famed for sea turtles, or simply laze in a hammock on the white sandy beaches of Gili Trawangan, Meno or Air.
- If you are up for a challenge and have three days to spare, trek to the rim of Mount Rinjani, Lombok’s revered volcano. This is for experienced hikers only.
- Alternatively, a daytrip to the waterfalls in North Lombok is well worth your while and a good guide can be arranged if you want to venture off the beaten track. This eight-hour tour includes a waterfall hike as well as rice field photo opportunities.

- Go on a full-day Sasak Tour to get an insight into Lombok’s traditions and culture. The tour includes a visit to a traditional village, Kuta Mandalika Beach and International Circuit, as well as a charming hand-weaving village.
- Visit Sweta’s Bertais Market which sells pretty much everything made on the island.
- Lombok is well known for its pearl farms. For loose pearls and pearl jewellery, visit one of the specialist retail outlets in Sekarbela near Mataram.
- For a change of scene, eat out at the fascinating living museum, Hotel Tugu, or enjoy a gourmet dinner at the 5-star Oberoi Lombok.
- Learn surfing and ride the waves. Ask the Elite Concierge to arrange lessons with a local surf guide who can guide you to master the waves.

Meals are enjoyed family-style on the large wooden table in Villa Kukenan’s living room. The talented in-house chef shall prepare a delicious and healthy daily breakfast for your group to start the day well. The chef and Villa Manager will discuss your group’s requirements and meals will be prepared fresh as per your taste and preferences.
Our kitchen specialises in showcasing traditional Lombok and Indonesian cuisine, using the freshest locally sourced ingredients, including an abundant selection of seafood, tropical fruits, and vegetables. We also offer an array of western favourites, delighting you with familiar flavours. Meals can be fully customised as per your taste and preferences. We are also well-equipped to accommodate special requests, dietary needs, and children's meals.
Groceries and beverages are charged at cost price, plus a 20% handling fee and tax. Guests may be requested by the Villa Manager to provide cash in advance to cover provisioning, and our staff will provide all receipts for your reference. We highly recommend discussing and planning your meals well in advance.
