Experience casual, open-plan living at Sea View Zenith Villa in Baan View Talay, snuggled into a quiet Phuket hill near Surin Beach's soft white sands.
Hugged by palms and bitter bean-bearing trees, the six-bedroom villa is embedded in nature, providing space for 12 adults including couples, families, and groups of friends. Standing resilient against time, the hillside villa is a lavish affair that blends the rustic with the modern. Teak galore creates a homely atmosphere, while Thai antiques radiate peace. Contemporary amenities include a home audio system, so you can play music throughout the premises, and the big-screen Smart TV with over 1,000 channels offers a cinema-like experience. Exterior-wise, gabled roofs and spiky peaks reminiscent of a Thai temple enhance the property's visual appeal.
But step inside the panoramic, air-conditioned glass lift first, and you'll get a taste of the views from the villa's sun-drenched infinity pool further up. Overlooking Bang Tao Beach, the ten-metre pool is one of the highlights of this sea-view haven. There's also a covered outdoor lounge, should you need a break from the sun.
Inside, the combined kitchen-dining-living room layout fosters socialising, while the high ceiling promotes a sense of freedom. For privacy, retreat to one of the bedrooms, a symphony of rustic-chic and artsy styles. Whether you prefer a room on the top floor or below the pool, each bedroom has panoramic sea views. Unforgettable is also the staff's attitude, embodied in the villa's logo, a lotus leaf. From the housekeeping and the 24-hour estate security team to your private chef and the Villa Manager, they cater to every whim.

Unique features
Location
Surin Beach lies on the western coast of Phuket and is one of several white sand beaches in the area. It is ideal for swimming and has plenty of restaurants and boutique stores in the neighbourhood. Street vendors sell drinks, fruit shakes and barbecued meats grilled on skewers on the beach promenade. The beaches of Bang Tao and Laem Singh, a palm-fringed paradise beach with a hidden cove-like feel, are only a short drive away.
It's a 30-minute drive to the airport from the villa. A quick 15-minute drive also takes you to the upmarket Laguna area, the high-end open-air mall of Porto de Phuket, and the shopping village named Boat Avenue.
More information for Things to doWhile Phuket has roughly 45 beaches, there's a lot more to do on the island. Whether you're on a family holiday or travel with friends keen for shared experiences, Phuket delivers. From elephant walking tours and shopping sprees to beach massages and feathery cabaret shows with plenty of glitter, here are some trip ideas to add to your Phuket itinerary:
Go Shopping | Surin Beach has no shortage of souvenir and handicraft shops, and one that stands out within the immediate vicinity of the villa is the Lemongrass House. Specialising in handmade spa products, the store sells anything from shampoos and body lotions to essential oils. Street markets in the area sell anything from elephant pants to grilled octopus and coconut-based Thai desserts.
The market in front of the Bang Tao Mukaram Mosque happens every morning and late afternoon, while the Thursday night market behind Cherngtalay's Lotus Mall is a great way to end the day on a balmy evening. If you have a bit more cash to burn, check out The Plaza Surin, a shopping mall that houses upscale fashion brands from all corners of the world.
Dive into the Local Coffee Culture | Coffee is traditionally big in Thai culture, and Surin's best cafes offer some of the most popular places for travellers to soak up local Thai coffee culture. One street cafe, plain in sight on the main road from Cherngtalay to Surin, sells local dark-roast coffee and seasonal fruits such as litchi-like longan. And Nuatone Cafe, hidden in Bangtao's jungle next to a spurting waterfall, yet just a five-minute drive from the villa, is the perfect place to sip coffee in peace. You can lounge in a hammock or slump onto a beanbag on a suspended net 10 metres above the ground. The bubbling brook and calls of greater coucal birds add to the laid-back vibe.
Visit the Green Elephant Sanctuary Park | A 15-minute drive from the villa is this aptly named elephant sanctuary, which has saved elephants from terrible working conditions. Riding is a big no-no here, but you can feed the gentle giants, watching as they nab sugarcane off your hands. Riding- and bathing-free interactions also include walking tours in the elephants' natural habitat, as well as smearing mud on them and washing them off. Listening to the bellows of these pachyderms as they blow air from their trunks is an experience in itself.
Relax on Surin Beach | Visit this 800-metre stretch of white sand beach in the high season from December to April, and you can bathe in warm, calm, and incredibly clear water. Street vendors on the beach promenade offer creature comforts, selling anything from exotic fruits to stir-fried noodle dishes, so you'll never go hungry while working on your tan. If you're a fan of snorkelling, check out the rocks on the northern and southern end of Surin Beach.
Enjoy Family Fun at Blue Tree Waterpark | Similar to the villa, Blue Tree's 16,615 sqm lagoon is in the hills, only five kilometres from Baan View Talay. Quite a few attractions await at this exciting waterpark. Firstly, there are the hair-raising slides that will hurl you into the air. You can also fly from a 15m-tall platform at about 50km/h, hanging from a pulley. If you or your kids fancy an adrenaline rush, you can jump from a 10m-rock pinnacle. There's also a squirrel garden that your little ones won't want to leave and plenty of daybeds to curl up on.
Explore Phuket Old Town | Not exactly in the Surin Beach area yet well worth a visit, Phuket Old Town is well-known for its colourful row houses. Twenty-three kilometres from the villa, the Sino-colonial mansions that used to be the homes of tin barons have been turned into cafes, galleries, and clothes shops. Once twilight falls, the old city comes alive, even more so on Sundays when the Lard Yai Sunday Night Market happens.
Things to do in your villa:
Spa & Beauty | There's little reason to leave the villa if you’re looking for spa indulgence. Tell your Villa Manager you want an in-villa massage, and a skilled therapist will show up. A Thai massage can beat the office syndrome, or an oil massage will make you drift into deep relaxation.
Movie Nights | Slump onto the couch in the open-plan living area and choose one of many films in the digital movie library. The gigantic Smart TV makes for a cinema-like experience - without the crowds.
Poolside Barbecues | Throw a poolside barbecue party with your family or friends at the rustic outdoor lounge with a couch and low-slung table. With a glass of bubbly in hand, you can tuck into grilled seafood or barbecued meats and chat with your friends, all while enjoying unforgettable sea views.

Dining
Known for sweet, sour, salty, and particularly spicy flavours, Thai cuisine is popular across the globe. Your acclaimed private chef is a dab hand at stir-fries and curries and can tailor dishes to suit international palates.
Always a good moment to get together and plan the day, breakfast can be served at the wood-and-marble dining table with the teak-framed glass doors wide open to the pool, or in the covered outdoor lounge with a low-slung table.
As well as fresh farm eggs, croissants, and seasonal Thai fruits, breakfast favourites include pastries and bread rolls, while fresh pancakes with honey or jam cater for sweet tooths. Rather than individual servings, cooked dishes are served family style with enough of each meal to feed the entire group. Thai staples may include chicken fried rice or herb omelettes with steamed Surin jasmine rice.
Unless you're out sightseeing, lunch is typically an informal buffet on the poolside deck. Expect golden shrimp spring rolls in fresh rice paper drizzled with tamarind sauce or popular Thai dishes such as green curry chicken or prawn with aubergines. A milder version is the coconut milk-based Massaman Curry with potatoes and chicken or beef. The chef can also knock up green papaya salad for guests who don't fear nose-tingling sensations, or serve western dishes such as healthy salads and Mediterranean pasta.
Your Villa Manager will do your grocery shopping if you pre-order food and drinks. Groceries and beverages are charged at market price plus a 20% handling fee subject to government tax. Breakfast is included in the rate.
