Your first impression of Villa Verde is bound to be that it’s a haven for city dwellers. The courtyard is wide enough to host a yoga retreat and the ample area can also be effectively utilised to throw a pool party. A covered gazebo and two sunbeds offer respite to those who don’t want to dip their toes, but rather sit by the cerulean water with a drink in hand. The courtyard and pool are flanked by traditional-style structures on three sides where you will find the living room, study and four bedrooms, each of which features wooden furniture and eclectic decor, including mirrors, photo frames and a chest of drawers.

High, sloping roofs give the rooms a sense of space, while large glass doors can be opened up to allow in breeze and sunlight. The decor is pleasing, with eclectic pieces such as upholstered armchairs breaking the complacency of pastel shades. If you have an eye for design, you will love how chevron tiles have been used in various places to add a bit of spunk into the charming interiors. Outdoor dining under leafy trees is what evenings in Goa should be all about, cocktail in hand of course.

The fully equipped kitchen is stocked with crockery and cutlery, in case you’d like to cook your own food, though a cook can easily be hired at extra charge.
