Part of the Fonteira Villas complex in North Goa, named after traditional Goan villages or districts, this three-bedroom villa is a delightful holiday home for families. Set in Assagao, the ‘Beverly Hills of Goa’, the villa sits pretty on a quiet stretch of land, a short drive away from the bustling beaches of Vagator and Ashwem.
Surrounded by cashew and mango trees, Fonteira - Villa A is tastefully done up in soothing shades of white, beige and brown. Interiors have natural tones and rustic finishes such as wrought iron and jute chandeliers and earthy upholstery. You will be enamoured with the different kinds of tiles used in various spaces - vitrified tiles in the living room; vintage-style, colourful cement tiles in the bedrooms, and dramatic, black-and-white Indian marble in the powder room.
Your entire group can spread out, there’s plenty of space here with three comfortable bedrooms. In addition to the terrace on the upper floor, the rooms too open up to views that delight, allowing you to see the green side of Goa, a personality different from the party town and beachside that tourists are usually familiar with.
Small touches like music players, WiFi, a selection of board games, and coffee machines ensure that there’s never a dull moment here. And how could there be, with delicious food being served to you, courtesy of an in-villa cook (extra charge) adept at local, Asian and western cuisines? Meals may be relished at the dining table set in a corner of the living room, which seats eight, while snacks can be enjoyed alfresco by the pool or on the terrace.
Catch a tan by the pool or while away your day swimming, reading or sipping on your favourite cocktails. You’re in Goa, it’s always cocktail time here. If you do feel like stepping out for a change of scene, you’ll find several entertainment options nearby, such as Escobar, a local bar stocking Goa’s famous craft spirits; sports bar SORO; and SEA restaurant, which plays live music on Thursday nights. Transportation can be arranged for you on a chargeable basis.
